Decorating Your Home for Fall

Updated: Nov 6, 2021

Fall is just around the corner with the promise of cooler weather, PSLs, and college football. It’s also a great excuse to change up the look of your home and get everyone in a more festive mood! The anchor of this year’s redecorating and refurbishing theme is utilizing the outdoor space. Whether that means a patio, porch or backyard, fall is the best time, especially in the south, to relish in comfortable weather after a sticky, hot summer.

1. Spice up your front door

In keeping with the fall spirit, nothing is more welcoming than a bright red door or, conversely, a neutral wooden door. Each has its own flare, but both gives your home some more personality and sophistication.

2. Add in pops of plaid Plaid works great as a more low-key accent piece. You can incorporate it in via napkins at the dining area, small accent pillows on the couch or bed, blanket thrown over patio furniture, and even pet accessories!

3. Lean into chunkiness

Is it fall décor if you don’t have an assortment of faux pumpkins and squash? Add in copper containers with warm color flowers and grasses such as sunflowers and sweet potato grasses to create contrast between the round, chunky vegetables. You can arrange these items around a dining area outside since it will be great to enjoy family meals with fresh air.
